Co-founder of the Apple Computer Company along with Steve Jobs.
If Wozniack contributed the technological brilliance that marked Apple out from the start, it was Jobs who provided the necessary charisma and drive. He was the inspiring leader (he has called himself the Henry Ford of the computer industry) and the smooth-talking public face of the company. And while he began his association with computers, like Wozniack, as an awkward, electronics-obsessed child, the commercial instinct was always evident: even while at school he was able to talk his way into the components he needed.
After attending Reed College, Oregon, Jobs worked on computers as a hobby and took a job at Atari. In 1976 he and Wozniack created the Apple Computer Company. Their Apple II helped initiate the popularisation of the computer, and the Macintosh (introduced in the 1980s) revolutionised the interface of the PC.
After an internal power struggle, Jobs left in 1985 and founded NeXT Inc. In 1980 he bought Pixar, the animation studio that later produced the film Toy Story. He returned to Apple in 1997 as CEO, a post he continues to hold. He was married in 1991 and has four children.
