A knife, fork and steel with decorative horn handles. Cutlery-making in the eighteenth century was a distinct trade controlled by the Cutlers' guild. Cutlers made all sorts of sharp-edged tools in addition to knives, including spades, razors and blood-letting lancets for surgeons.
